Red and Green

I was in Aldi the other day, it's one of the supermarkets that I use when I'm 'up North' enjoying our 'Smaller Life'.  I decided on the spur of the moment that a couple of jars of their delicious Free From pesto would make a brilliant addition to my larder ... and at just 69p a jar it's the cheapest I've found it anywhere.

So two jars were purchased, one red with roasted tomatoes and one green with basil, and they have been added to the 'Big Shop' bag of foods waiting to take their place in the Challenge larder.  It gives me the option of an instant eight meals served with the pasta shown yesterday or additional dollops of flavour if added to other meals.

This £1.38 spend brings my Big Shop total up to £12.69

I think it's time to start a bit of menu planning.
