Day Three - 14 in 7

Breakfast - Grapefruit

Something weird is happening to my taste buds they really do seem to be acclimatising to this sour fruit of the devil.

Again the grapefruit was followed by a hardboiled egg and a couple of mugs of black coffee.  Without all the coffee I would be hanging up my diet sheet right now.

As I was on the move I took an apple and a banana to keep me going over lunchtime.

Tea was the 'meatiest' vegan burgers I could find.

It's as close to a steak as I could get, the texture was too similar for me though and although the taste wasn't bad I won't be eating them again.   Alan loved his lamb chops and salad though.

Guess what was for supper ...

... yep, it was a grapefruit.

Starting and ending the day with this just seems weird.

Up to now although I've been feeling okay I'm really starting to miss being able to pick at things when I'm peckish, but maybe the main idea behind this is to change your eating habits enough so you lose that grazing habit.

  1. You're doing really well Sue, considering just how rigid and strict this diet is. I wish we liked black coffee, but we just don't at all. I think the only reason we're sticking to our version of the diet is because it's much more like fairly normal eating for us, the difference to our normal way of eating being no starchy carbs at all and almost no dairy. I am beginning to desperately miss cheese and my favourite frothy coffees though!

    1. I'm missing marmalade funnily enough ... and good old mayo ☹

  2. You're doing brilliantly and I agree with you that habits take time to adapt and change. As the saying goes, 'if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got' - change can be hard but a Good Thing, all the same.

    1. I've always loved that saying ... totally ignored it at times, but loved it nontheless ☺

    1. Heading for the finish line, thinking of the weigh in is the only thing keeping me on the straight and narrow 😀

  4. "Sour fruit of the devil" haha. I like pink grapefruit, but don't think I would want it for my supper.
Your last challenge was a little meager at times, but that seems a luxury now. But hang in there, keep the goal in mind. You can do it! (are you allowed to sprinkle cinnamon on the grapefruit? would that help?)
