So the new Challenge has been picked and we will be off and running with the Yellow Sticker Challenge in a couple of days. In the meantime I am getting my eye in and looking everywhere I go for bargains, yellow sticker items and other reduced to clear goodies.
Yesterday for instance, while I was at Wyevale in Altrincham for a spot of lunch with Mum, I spied this little chappy all alone on a shelf. He's a doorstop ... but not in our house, nope we are never normal but I'm sure you have all sussed that out by now.
We already have one exactly the same guarding the spare-room door, not to keep it open but to protect the carpet on the outside of the room when the door is closed! Our lovely boy Ginger the cat, thinks that every closed door is a challenge that should be dug under, and he will spend minutes at a time frantically pulling the carpet up. He has also started doing that on our little landing area halfway up the stairs, and I'm finding myself more and more frequently having to push the fitted carpet back into place.
Our first doggy doorstop cost me £10 I think a few years ago, but this chap was reduced to 70% off ...
... which means he cost me the grand total of £3.90, and I think he will come in very handy.
Now I know he's not got a yellow sticker and he's not edible, but I think for the duration of the seven day Challenge if I see something like this I will break out of 'yellow sticker 'mode and add any multi coloured sticker bargains to my shopping basket as well.
It would have been rude to have left such a handsome and useful little chappy behind.
Edited to add ...
Doggy Twins :-)
I'll be back tomorrow with my Yellow Sticker Challenge shopping rules.
Sue xx
He's delightful and how could you say no at that price?
ReplyDeletexx
Exactly :-)
DeleteAww, they're lovely. What a great price, and how fortunate to find the twin at that price - it was clearly fate. Looking forward to reading about your Challenge.
ReplyDeleteAww, yes, twin doggies :-)
DeleteLovely doorstop and I don't think I would have been able to turn it down either.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I walked round cuddling him for quite a while before I actually paid for him :-)
DeleteVery cute.x
ReplyDeleteHe is :-)
DeleteHe would have jumped into my basket as well for the exact same reason!!
ReplyDeleteEvery door frame in our house has pulled up carpet thanks to the cat! She's even started to hook her claws into the rubber seal on the patio doors when they're closed. She comes in through the kitchen, then sits at the patio doors clawing at them to get out again. It drives me insane!! You got a barg!!
It sounds like you need an army of doorstops. Cats can be real pests at times ... it's a good job we love them.
DeleteOh I wouldn't be able to resist him either, my friend lives in Altrincham and her parents live in Timperley, small world 70% is a good discount, I'm glad he's got a lovely home x
ReplyDeleteMum lives in Sale, I'm from the Old Trafford area of Manchester originally 🙂
DeleteOur cats do the same thing; but in doing it, they destroy the carpeting!! No closed doors here anymore!
ReplyDeleteIt's the one closed door ... I think it annoys him 🤣🤣
DeleteHe is such a cute bargain!
ReplyDeleteHe is. He's currently sitting side by side with our original. Ginger will think he's got double vision 😆🤣
DeleteOur cat has destroyed the carpets and sofas here. Good job we love him, the rascal!
ReplyDeleteMy best friend lives in Timperley!
DeleteSmall world 😃
DeleteI don't really know that side of Manchester well. I lived in Old Trafford, Firswood and then on the Eccles/Irlam border for a few years before moving to Cumbria in 1986.
If I had seen him for £3.90 I think I'd have bought him too!
ReplyDeleteYou just can't say no for that price can you. He was not much more than a large cup of coffee!!
