As they softened i gave them a squish with the potato masher. After about 20 minutes I tipped them into a cheesecloth lined sieve over a bowl, as soon as they were cool enough I squeezed as much liquid out as I could. I put that into a clean pan and reduced it by half. sticky toffee pudding and Christmas in a jar. It should last for a month in the fridge (fat chance). The pulp has had fine chopped apple stirred in with a little orange zest and will be the filling in an alternative bakewell pudding. Waste not want not. The dates cost £1 for 350 grams on offer in Tesco and I got 3/4 of jam jar of syrup. I am happy with that but I will be checking around. I made my own today and am seriously considering try to grind my own gram flour. I do make oat flour and I made a good batch of date syrup this afternoon. I think that making my own is the way forward right now.Pamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18406981075860636289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4255134196392270372.post-23088388862136369172019-05-17T17:00:39.288+01:002019-05-17T17:00:39.288+01:00Interesting to see gram flour, I buy it quite a lo...Interesting to see gram flour, I buy it quite a lot and use it to make courgette fritters and other veg fritters, also a type of pancake I love the nutty flavour it produces, but also flavour with cumin, corriander, garlic powder or onion powder. I also use tahini but only to make humous. I am now curious/nosy to know what recipes you use booth these items for?
